PLP 016: How to Prepare Tracks to DJ in Ableton Live

In this episode I share how to prepare tracks to DJ in Ableton Live, including how I name files, warp tracks, and organize my library.

But first… I’ve got a BIG announcement. My new self-titled track House Ninja was selected by Ill Gates to be included in the next Producer Dojo Mixtape, Say my Name Again, out Wednesday, April 22 on the Producer Dojo SoundCloud page… please check that out and share it with your friends.

This is my third time being featured on a Producer Dojo mixtape, and I’m really excited to be included alongside other talented producers like Mr. Moo, Tao Moon, Mufunka, Slowform, Porch, and Captain.  The whole mixtape was curated by Luke Rain. Sean Naughton (aka Spiderhound) is heading up the release with the marketing. Sean was a guest back on episode 007 and shared some great ideas on processing vocals. Lots of love to everyone at the Dojo!

By the way, this episode describes how I prepare and organize tracks. I realize there are a LOT of different ways to do this, so I’d love to hear from you. If you’ve got a better way of doing things… let me know in the comments below or over on the Producer Life Podcast Facebook group.
